These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Anamnesis ("the app", "we", "us"). By creating an account and using Anamnesis, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Anamnesis is a small, independent project. These Terms are written plainly and honestly to reflect that.
Anamnesis is a personal tool for its users. It is provided free of charge, with no advertising, no monetization, and no commercial intent. The app is a work in progress and is offered as-is, with the understanding that it may change, go down, or evolve over time.
To use Anamnesis, you create an account with a display name and an email address. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Your display name does not need to be your real or legal name.
Each account is personal to you. Please do not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of other people without their knowledge.
We want Anamnesis to be a good-faith space. By using the app, you agree not to:

You own the content you create and store in Anamnesis. We do not claim any rights to it. Your content is private to you and is not accessible to other users.
We access your content only as strictly necessary to provide the service or to investigate issues you report to us. You can request deletion of your account and all associated content at any time by contacting us at groundskeeper@anamnesis.garden.
Anamnesis is free to use. We do not collect payment information of any kind. There are no subscriptions, purchases, or fees.
We do our best to keep Anamnesis running reliably, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. The app may go down for maintenance, be slow, or behave unexpectedly. We will try to communicate planned downtime in advance when possible.
Since Anamnesis is an independent project, there may be periods where updates are infrequent or where the app changes significantly.
Anamnesis is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, secure, or continuously available. Your use of the app is at your own risk.
We strongly encourage you to maintain your own backups of any content that matters to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any loss of data. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months, which in most cases is zero.
You may stop using Anamnesis and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at groundskeeper@anamnesis.garden.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. In the unlikely event we decide to shut down the app entirely, we will provide reasonable advance notice and an opportunity to export or retrieve your content.
If we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify you via the email address associated with your account before the changes take effect. Continued use of the app after that point constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
